"Experiencing the transformative power of financial technologies on-site at Money20/20 Europe 2025, Pay N Kolay is shaping its strategic steps with a focus on artificial intelligence, embedded finance, and digital onboarding solutions. In our interview with Bülent Şaştı, Deputy General Manager of Business Development, Brand, and Market Partnerships, numerous topics were discussed, ranging from the impact of data analytics-based infrastructures on user experience to the collaborations established with digital wallet providers and super-app platforms. Important clues regarding Pay N Kolay's regional technology export vision following the event are included in this interview."
How was Money20/20 Europe 2025 for you? Which topics interested you the most at this year's event?
"For Pay N Kolay, Money 20/20 Europe 2025 was a highly productive event where we discovered new perspectives at the intersection of technology and finance. At the event, held under the theme 'Create the Future,' digital currencies, embedded finance, artificial intelligence applications that radically transform the customer experience, and API-based microservice architectures were among the prominent topics. This year, the importance of regulation-friendly innovations was also demonstrated much more clearly. We had the opportunity to evaluate how we could integrate these trends into our existing product portfolio."
What innovations or business models stood out at the event that inspired you regarding the future of the fintech sector?
"In particular, the simplification of digital onboarding processes using artificial intelligence and the evolution of digital identity verification in cross-border transactions were inspiring for us. Additionally, the level reached by embedded finance and context-aware payment infrastructures in non-POS payment solutions was quite impressive. As Pay N Kolay, we are also focusing on such approaches that will make payment systems smarter and more predictive based on user habits."
Were there any collaboration opportunities or network connections that caught your attention on an international or regional level during the event? Could you talk about the contacts that were meaningful to you?
"Yes, this year we had remarkable contacts, especially with digital wallet providers and licensed payment institutions from Central and Eastern Europe. Through these contacts, we received strong feedback regarding the integration of our products into different markets. We also initiated an integration-based collaboration evaluation with a financial super-app operating in the Gulf countries. Such international contacts support Pay N Kolay's vision of technology export on a regional scale."
Among the technological approaches or strategic trends highlighted on the Money20/20 stage, which had the strongest impact that will shape the future of the industry?
"The strongest impact, without a doubt, was the role artificial intelligence plays in data analytics and user behavior analysis by being integrated into payment infrastructures. We observed that artificial intelligence provides in-depth outputs, particularly in areas such as anomaly detection, fraud risk analysis, segmentation of user habits, and the measurement of transaction performance.
As Pay N Kolay, we are actively utilizing these technologies to increase transaction security, monitor system efficiency, and make the user experience more intuitive. These AI-supported infrastructures are paving the way for smarter and more secure payment processes for both individual and commercial users.
